Pathway in Space
Ji Young Chun, Pathway in Space, 2015. wood, LED light, and urethane rubber, 4' x 4' (x 3 ea). Korea.
On a white sheet of paper, I drew and cut out different versions of line that were drawn on 'Geoboard'.
Inspired by the lines that created different paths on the Geoboard, I built a series of wood sculptures in order to replicate these paths in real space. The path is a metaphor for life, and some parts of the installation are highlighted by the use of LED lights to represent milestones in the path.
Exhibited at Project Broom gallery in 2015.
