Synopsis

What would it be like to be immersed in a space where I can control sound and visual in real-time? Apocalypse is a live performance with interactive music and sound reactive visuals. I wanted to create powerful dark feelings. The music creates a dramatic and destructive mood and so do the sketches that are responding to the music. On the stage, I play sound and project visuals at the same time with mouse and keyboard interactions. I control the panning effects and distort sounds with the mouse. Simultaneously, I switch between the projections of ten different sketches with the keyboard on three layers of scrim. I used the scrim to create 3D effects and to offer immersive and fantastic sensations to the audience.

Curation

I made ten different sound-reactive sketches using p5.js, Toxiclibs.js (physics engine), JavaScript and HTML, and created a sequence note for VJing at the live performance. The sequence acted as a musical score.
